New Ride Posted – Pattee Cake

What a name right? This morning I attempted to map out last nights ride that I did with my friend. We took off at 5:30 and made it back as darkness overtook Missoula. We ended the ride with a Huckleberry shake at the Big Dipper.

Distance: 16 miles
Time: 2 hours
Climbing: 3,400
Documents: [map ]

The ride is one that I have been perfecting because it is the most convenient and leads right from my front door. The ride goes up the Mount Sentinel Fire Road and ends up in Pattee Canyon in the Crazy Canyon area. the route utilizes some nifty single track before dumping out onto the Folf field. Then we went across the road to the Sammy B.

After some downhill single track we climbed back up Crazy canyon and back into town. This is a great little ride and can be done in as little as an hour and a half. Taking it easy as a recovery fun ride it can be up to 3 hours lo9ng. Such diversity in the terrain affords one to employ all mountain biking skill and tax the system on some pretty tasty climbs.
